The Centro Assistenza Studenti was set up in the 1996-1997 academic year to offer a range of services to university students to facilitate their integration into city life.

Since A.Y.'97-'98, the Student Assistance Centre has been entrusted by the University of Pavia with providing logistical accommodation and assistance to students on international exchange programmes.

It also collaborates with the University's promotional initiatives and with the Language Laboratory for the organisation of language courses in the evenings.
